Annual Physicals
What Is an Annual Physical?
An annual physical at Modern Edge Family Practice in Albuquerque, NM is a yearly preventive visit with your own board-certified nurse practitioner. It is a chance to review your health history, check vital signs, update screenings and vaccines, and look at lab work before small problems become big ones. Our visits are longer than a typical clinic slot, so there is time for your questions instead of a rushed checklist.
Physicals are part of our family practice care for adults and families across Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, and the Northeast Heights.
What Happens at Your Physical
During the visit
- A review of your personal and family medical history, medications, and supplements
- Blood pressure, heart rate, weight, and a head-to-toe exam
- Age-appropriate screening recommendations, such as colon, breast, cervical, and prostate screening
- Vaccine review
- A conversation about sleep, stress, energy, nutrition, and activity
Lab work
Most physicals include routine labs such as a CBC, metabolic panel, cholesterol panel, and A1c. If you want a deeper look at hormones, thyroid, or metabolism, you can add one of our comprehensive lab panels. Your provider reviews every result with you and explains what it means.
After the visit
You leave with a clear plan: which screenings are due, which numbers to watch, and when to follow up. Members can message their provider directly between visits. See our membership plans for details.
